Commentary

This song, as you might guess from the title, is a continuation of the work started with Chase. After recording that song, Patman had announced he had an idea for something similar, but he wanted to play guitar instead of keyboard. To vary my part, instead of using existing drum machine patterns, I created one of my own. It was a simple rhythm that repeated throughout the song, while I played the drum machine's individual instruments in a live accompaniment.

Patman proceeded to lay down a chunky rhythm guitar part over my improvised percussion. Then, as with the previous song, we overdubbed keyboards and a lead guitar. The parts that didn't fit in were mixed out, and another wild piece of I-don't-know-what was born.

These two pieces, as we talked later, were intended for an album entitled The Visitor. The idea was that we would record some more pieces at my studio in Georgia and his in Florida, each of us visiting the other. With my move to California, that idea would probably take years to achieve, as there's no guarantee the lightning would strike at any given visit like it did here. I felt the songs were too good to let sit on a shelf forever, so I included them here.
