Four Leaf Clover leads to a really solid album

By Rick Hines, June 20, 2019

For some reason, I've had that song "Four Leaf Clover" stuck in my head for twenty five years. I even forgot who did it. Looking the song/video up on YouTube recently led me to buying this album.

All I can say is, wow! I am impressed. Abra writes almost all her own music, and this album really shows a variety of interests. There's a certain "female-ness" to the album, as she gives off the vibe of a positive-thinking hippie chick, so to speak. Just her and her band taking on the world. But when the band cranks up and the lead guitarist steps forward, it rocks. The arrangements are clever, and there's a nice flow to everything.

I wish I'd paid more attention to Abra Moore at the time. There's a lot of talent here, and I'd recommend it to anyone who enjoys 90's female singers (think good Liz Phair with a better voice).
