I have occasionally been asked why there has been nothing new added to my site in "some time." Well, as an active artist, I find when I feel the urge to create, I have to follow that feeling. When I don't feel the urge to create, I archive my creative impulses. So, just to give people a feeling for my current projects, ones that are in some sort of embryonic state (for example, pictures of a painting in progress) or bits that just haven't found their proper context yet (for example, a song not yet released on a CD), here's a page for that.

Sept 7, 2015 : In the Recording Studio
I recently purchased a new computer and replaced my old recording studio software with new software. Things have improved quite a bit over the last fifteen years, and playing around with some of the new features in the studio has really reignited my song writing. After releasing an initial EP (I Can't Breathe), I have begun to work on tracks for a new album. Here are three new songs I've recently completed. There's the hard rock of (I've Seen) All That Shit (Before), the jazzy instrumental Black Sheep, and the strange pop of Panda. Watch for a new album to appear early next year!

July 10, 2013 : In the Recording Studio
I have been working in the recording studio with bassist Paul Romero. We have been attempting to write songs by recording bass/drum improvisations, then editing the improvisations into song structures. Write some words, overdub some guitars or keyboards, and viola! Below is a sample song that I edited together as a demo for Paul, adding overdubbed guitar and vocals over our improvised rhythm track.

October 23, 2011 : New Oil Painting
It's been ten years since I worked on an oil painting. I've kept pretty busy making music during that time. While I never intended to stop painting, I found that my ideas weren't tending that direction. Some of my last finished paintings were landscapes, so when I moved to San Diego, it was only natural to think about painting the awesome view from my back yard. After mulling it over for a couple years, I started working on a new canvas during the last couple of weeks.
