Potential Frenzy

Potential Frenzy

1991-92, oil on canvas, 28" x 36"

During my stay in Orlando, I became involved in a lot of different art projects with local dancers, musicians, photographers, and painters. This led to my portraying many of my fellow artists from this underground art society. My favorite of the series is this picture of Potential Frenzy, a punk rock band that I spent much time with, both as a fan and as a "roadie" helping them with shows all over Florida and Georgia. Their example gave me the education I needed to eventually form my own band and play out (our first gig was opening for Potential Frenzy, of course). This image was culled from a great number of performance photos I took of the band, and it captures the raw emotion and exuberance of one of their live shows. For more information on the group and my involvement with them, see my photos and chapter 5 of my biography, "Rock and Roll In Florida".
